8th Grade Areas of Study

 

Science

Physical Science is designed to examine the laws governing Physics and Chemistry. Students are encouraged to explore, discover, and manipulate their world with new and exciting knowledge.

Language Arts

Focus is placed on the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students participate in individual and cooperative group activities along with cross-curricular projects.

 Math

Students explore integers, algebraic expressions, inequalities, graphing, real numbers, proportions, percents, exponents, geometry, graphs, probability, algebraic relationships, and more!

Algebra

Students explore real numbers, algebraic equations, inequalities, proportions, graphs, functions, systems of equations, polynomials, factoring, quadratic equations, radical expressions, and more!

 
History

Students study the chronological history of the United States - starting from its beginnings of exploration and finishing with the end of Reconstruction. Also throughout the year, students examine current issues that affect our future.
