Leadership Transition Plan
Plan Overview
In the spring of 2021, the Board of Education hired the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Student Services. The Board hired Dr. Tom Bruce to be the assistant superintendent for two years under the leadership of the current superintendent, Mr. Eichberg, and then transition into the role of superintendent. Mr. Eichberg is planning on retiring in June of 2023. In December 2022, the superintendent and assistant superintendent created a timeline of events, tasks, and activities to transition from the current superintendent to the incoming superintendent. The timeline will begin in January 2022 and end in June 2023. The Leadership Transition Plan aims to provide continuity in transferring duties from one leader to another. Berrien Springs Public Schools’ Administration will execute a comprehensive communication plan that will explain all facets of the project during the 18 month timeline.
