Learn to Skate Spring 2024

  • All students must complete a project for this class.
  • Location: Garden Ice Arena, corner of Cleveland and Glenlord, Stevensville

  • Ages: 4+
  • ​Start Date: starts week of 1/8 through week of 4/1/24.
  • Class days/times: Mondays 6:15-7:15pm, or Thursdays 1-2pm, or Saturdays 10:45-11:45 or Sundays 9-10am for Advanced Skaters (basic 4 and above).

Skates are included for LearnToSkate and students must bring a bike helmet for protection

In Learn To Skate, we teach the fundamentals of ice skating and hockey while building confidence and skills to ensure success from the first steps to advanced skills. No experience or equipment is necessary.

Skates are provided. Skaters bring a bike, ski, or hockey helmet and warm clothes.

Classes last 60 min. (30 min lesson and 30 min of free skate practice).

*Please note: it is important to make as informed a decision as possible when choosing your student's Community Resource classes. Most locations will allow a student to drop a class after one meeting, at no charge if it wasn't a good fit for the student, but not all. Some classes plan ahead based on the number that have signed up and have purchased materials, hired teachers, etc. and there might be a fee for class time or materials given to the student if the student drops after one or two meetings. The school cannot pay for classes that students do not complete, so choose wisely; if you do not take the class off of your student's schedule by the deadline, you may be asked to pay for the class time incurred prior to dropping the class.

This class will primarily focus on developing your skills as an actor while also building your overall confidence when speaking in front of others and with taking risks. 

American Sign Language

A FUN beginner ASL course  taught by a Deaf person, this online class will introduce ASL vocabulary and grammar.

Andrews University Swimming Lessons (group only)

Group swim lessons at Andrews University.

Backyard Farming

Through provided hands on learning, inquiry, and observation, students will gain an understanding of the basics of organic backyard gardening and an appreciation for being a good steward of the Earth.
