Math Intervention

The Discovery Academy offers Tiered Math Instruction Support based on Benchmark and Diagnostic Web-Based Reporting. Students are grouped according to percentile ranks versus National Norms. They are given live instructional support twice a week for forty minutes. Students will be periodically progress monitored throughout the year and data will be tracked to measure growth. Students will receive a scale score based on performance.

  • Algebra II A/B

3 Credits Science:

  • PLTW, CTE, or other approved science A/B

3 Credits Social Studies:

  • US History A/B
  • Civics A/B
  • Economics
  • World History

1 Credit Physical Education:

  • Physical Education
  • Health

3 Credits VPAA/World Language:

  • Visual, Performing, Applied Arts A/B
  • World Language 1 A/B

Community Service:

  • Volunteer Hours (40 hrs req.)

Senior Project

In addition to the above course requirements, students must also take the Michigan Merit Examination, or a state-approved alternate exam, before graduation. Typically, the state test is administered in the spring of the student's junior year.
