Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)

Overview

The GSRP Preschool would like to welcome you and your child to the exciting world of preschool education. We offer a FREE preschool program in Berrien County for children who are 4 years old before September 1st. Applications are reviewed for Head Start eligibility first. Each child must qualify for the preschool program based on guidelines including income verification.

Philosophy

We believe every child is unique in terms of life experience, developmental readiness, and cultural heritage. We also recognize that parents are the child's first teachers. Partnership between family and school is, therefore, essential to the optimal growth and development of young children. Our aim is to promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child through a consistent daily schedule.

We use curriculum aligned with Early Childhood Standards of Quality Pre-Kindergarten and supports our belief that children learn through the integration of learning and play, as children learn best by doing. We strive for balance between teacher directed and child initiated activities.
