mini MUSIC MAKERS

Course Description:
Singing based music instructions introduces our youngest musicians to the solfege system (do,re, mi...), with an emphasis on music theory, ear training skills, and rhythm accuracy.
Each class will include a physical and vocal warm up, group song, skills practice and a story/music listening experience to learn about music history and appreciation. There is no required work or practice outside of class.
FOUNDATIONS OF MUSIC: LEVEL 1

Course Description:
Singing based instruction for elementary ages children that introduces and builds upon music theory, ear training skills, and rhythm accuracy. Students will dive into sight singing using the solfege system.
Each class will include a physical and vocal warm up, group song, skills practice and a story/music listening experience to learn about music history and appreciation. Each class will include a physical and vocal warm up, group song, skills practice, music worksheets, music history and appreciation as well as education on how to take care of our bodies as singers, including breath work and proper phonation. There is no required work or practice outside of class.
*Please note: it is important to make as informed a decision as possible when choosing your student's Community Resource classes. Most locations will allow a student to drop a class after one meeting, at no charge if it wasn't a good fit for the student, but not all. Some classes plan ahead based on the number that have signed up and have purchased materials, hired teachers, etc. and there might be a fee for class time or materials given to the student if the student drops after one or two meetings. The school cannot pay for classes that students do not complete, so choose wisely; if you do not take the class off of your student's schedule by the deadline, you may be asked to pay for the class time incurred prior to dropping the class.
