A course designed to help you take control of your mind to prepare you for anything and everything life throws at you. While this course is geared towards athletes to help them perform at the highest level, it is not solely for athletes and all principles within this course can be used outside of athletics to help anyone take life, and each moment in it, captive and make the most of it rather than be taken captive by it and found in the prison of the beautiful mind. Each week will be accompanied by a different lifetime sport to help students absorb the curriculum better and have fun that will follow them through their lives while learning.
Required Materials: Note taking supplies, pens/pencils/paper, required texts
Optional Materials: Sporting Equipment for any/all sports we may be playing those days
Required Texts: With Winning In Mind By: Lanny Bassham (used Amazon $7), The Mindful Athlete: George Mumford (used Amazon $6), HBR On Mental Toughness (used amazon $6) (able to be rented if needed)
Please note: it is important to make as informed a decision as possible when choosing your student's Community Resource classes. Most locations will allow a student to drop a class after one meeting, at no charge if it wasn't a good fit for the student, but not all. Some classes plan ahead based on the number that have signed up and have purchased materials, hired teachers, etc. and there might be a fee for class time or materials given to the student if the student drops after one or two meetings. The school cannot pay for classes that students do not complete, so choose wisely; if you do not take the class off of your student's schedule by the deadline, you may be asked to pay for the class time incurred prior to dropping the class.
