Berrien Springs Public Schools Welcomes Newly Elected Board Member, Justin Turner
Berrien Springs Public Schools is excited to introduce newly elected board member, Mr. Justin Turner. Mr. Turner was elected during the November 2024 election. He will serve a six-year term beginning in January 2025 and concluding in December 2030.
Mr. Turner is a proud alumnus of Berrien Springs Public Schools. He has been a dedicated member of the Berrien Springs Oronoko Fire Department for nearly 25 years. For the past 23 years, Mr. Turner worked for American Electric Power at the Cook Nuclear Plant, where he managed the Fire Protection Program. Recently, he transitioned into a new role outside of the nuclear industry, continuing his career with American Electric Power. In his new position, he is responsible for developing and implementing a Wildfire Prevention Program to safeguard AEP’s infrastructure and the public.
When not working, Mr. Turner enjoys coaching youth softball and basketball within the community. He is married to Karrie, and together they have three children—a senior, an eighth grader, and a fifth grader—all of whom attend Berrien Springs Public Schools.
As the newest board member, Mr. Turner is excited to be part of the Berrien Springs Public Schools Board of Education. He said, “I’m excited to give back to the school that shaped my life and now educates my children. My passion is ensuring it offers the best opportunities for every student. Together, we can honor traditions and build a brighter future.”
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Justin Turner to the Berrien Springs Public Schools Board of Education. His commitment to the community and dedication to educational excellence make him a valuable addition to the board. We look forward to the positive impact he will bring to shaping the future of our students and school district.
In addition to Mr. Turner being elected to the board, Mrs. Stephanie James was also elected for a six-year term. Mrs. Erica Molden was elected to complete the partial term created by Mrs. Kim Keigley's resignation on October 12, 2023.
