Mrs. Fryatt accepts award from district administration

for December

Berrien Springs Public Schools is pleased to announce that Mrs. Melissa Fryatt has been named the second recipient of the One Berrien Award for December. This award recognizes staff members who consistently go the extra mile to support our students, schools, and community.

Her nominee said, “Mrs. Fryatt is the type of teacher you want your students to have. She works hard to meet each freshman student where they are and pushes them to grow and achieve their goals. She builds relationships with students that inspire them to continue visiting and working with her even after moving beyond Algebra 1. Her work as the head of the student section also strengthens relationships and builds a strong school culture and pride in being a Shamrock.”

Mrs. Fryatt helped create the high school student spirit section called the Green Gremlins.  The Green Gremlins have increased student presence at athletic and other school events.  They continue to promote activities on social media, amongst their peers, and at school.
One of her colleagues said, "Melissa Fryatt is an exceptional educator who not only excels in teaching but also in building lasting connections outside of the classroom."

Congratulations, Mrs. Melissa Fryatt, and thank you for going above and beyond for Berrien Springs High School and Berrien Springs Public Schools!
The “One Berrien Above and Beyond” Award is presented monthly throughout the school year to recognize the outstanding contributions of BSPS staff members. February nominations will open on Monday, February 3rd. To nominate a staff member, please visit https://bit.ly/4eif7y9.
