BSPS Announces the One Berrien Award Recipients for March
Renee Vorrath
Berrien Springs Public Schools is pleased to recognize Ms. Renee Vorrath as the One Berrien Award recipient for March. This award honors staff members who consistently go above and beyond to support our students, schools, and community.
Ms. Vorrath, a Paraprofessional working in our high school Mild Cognitive Impairment (MICI) classroom, exemplifies dedication, kindness, and selflessness. She works closely with students to build independence, life skills, and confidence by supporting their learning goals, guiding them through real-world experiences and field trips, and encouraging growth beyond the classroom.
Beyond her contributions in the classroom, Ms. Vorrath's impact resonates throughout our school and community. She announces games, keeps score, coaches, sets up for athletic and event competitions, and actively supports our student-athletes. Her positive presence is felt daily in the hallways as she greets students each morning, connecting with them during lunch, and taking the time to build meaningful relationships.
A colleague shared, “Her patience, encouragement, and dedication help students build essential skills that prepare them for life beyond school. Her presence not only benefits the students she serves but also strengthens the entire learning environment for both educators and peers.”
Congratulations, Renee! Thank you for your dedication and for going above and beyond for Berrien Springs High School and Berrien Springs Public Schools!
