BSPS Announces the One Berrien Award Recipient

Berrien Springs Public Schools is proud to recognize Mr. Jim Richards as the One Berrien Award recipient. This award honors staff members who consistently go above and beyond to support our students, schools, and community.

Mr. Richards is a secondary teacher at the Virtual Academy. He exemplifies what it means to be a Shamrock educator and lives out the Shamrock Way each day. He creates a classroom environment where learning is both meaningful and fun, inspiring students to stay engaged and motivated. His instruction and support especially in math have made a lasting impact on students.

Students often share how much Mr. Richards’ encouragement has helped them not only succeed in math, but also enjoy learning with other subject areas. He builds strong relationships with his students, identifies their individual strengths, and uses those strengths to support their academic growth and achievement.
