BSPS Announces One Berrien Award Recipient August Garritano

Mr. Garritano demonstrates a strong commitment to helping students grow academically, personally, and creatively. He creates a learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn, and families share that their children come home eager to talk about what they learned each day.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Garritano dedicates many hours to creating additional opportunities for students. He launched an after-school drama program for lower elementary students, led the production of The Lion King Kids with Mars Elementary students, and helped establish the Mars Elementary Student Council.

A parent shared, “My student is a better, more well-rounded learner because of Mr. Garritano. My son is excited to ask questions and tell me what he has learned. He has also been met with gentleness and grace when he makes a mistake.”
